Happy Monday everyone! Another week begins. I thought I’d share something I found last week, a new mag called Parasol. I love how it features artists, fashion, photography, design and it’s free!! What could be better than that. Go download it…now! There is no better way to start off your week.

My favorite article which they all were, but if I had to choose the one that really stood out was Elle Moss’ photography. love it! Oh yeah there is a set of photos in there with butterflies. (I heart butterflies) Enough from me go check it out already.

As artists we all need to have ideas to start with, but I find I often wonder where these ideas come from. For me I have a few places I pull from, my funny dog CJ, dreams & nightmares, random thoughts, or sometimes just what I see. I wrote a little bit about my entire illustration process here. Talks a little bit more about where I get ideas. I found a post awhile ago on idea generation over at Jillian Tamaki Sketchbook. It is a great read and I find myself going back there to re-read it when I’m feeling stuck.

I’m starting a new thing around here on Wednesdays, gonna feature four things I’m wishing for. Whether it be art, clothes, furniture, shoes, fun and odd stuff. Will make it up as I go. Here are the first four, my list is long so I doubt I will ever run out of stuff to be wishing for. Now I just wish I had some cash to buy it all!

1. Imperial – Original Painting by Michelle Maule (one of my new favorite artists)
2. You Are My Everything – Print by Stephanie Fizer (I’ve loved her work for awhile now)
3. Decoupaged Box – Gifts & Talents Shop (such a cute little box to store things in)
4. Ayumi Horie Mugs (one can never have too many mugs)

This has to be a blog record of some sort. I promise I will stop raving about the fabulous Jessica Gonacha soon. But you see she started this awesome blog called Pecannoot, it’s a blog with really inspiring artwork that reflects the theme of abudance. Go check it out, it is super inspiring, and will leave you all happy inside. Also, one of my illustrations is up there today.
