I finished my novel today, just minutes ago crossed the 50,000 mark and finished NaNoWriMo this year. YAY! Last year I failed miserably so to come back this year and finish is quit an accomplishment for me. Even though I had a rough start when I accidently deleted it a few days in, and had to start over.

Only one more post left to finish the 30 posts in 30 days NaBloPoMo thingy ma jiggy too. Guess I had a little too much time on my hands this November. Ok off to make me some scrambled eggs. I promise there will be some pretty artwork to show in the very near future.

That’s how many days are left in this month. Only twelve days to finish 30,000 words for NaNoWriMo, only twelve days left to post for NaBloPoMo, twelve days left until I can finally stop going after these goals that seem to take over my life settle in, and allow me to do nothing more than be stuck.

Not sure where I was going with that. I just find myself thinking an awful lot lately. Thinking instead of doing, thinking instead of painting, or drawing, or creating illustration. Thinking instead of contacting galleries, and art directors. Thinking instead of trying to find ways to keep promoting myself, and to get my art out there into the world.

To much thinking, not enough listening to my heart and doing.

posting for postings sake

Need to go walk this guy in a few here. My wrists are hurting and I can’t seem to type straight. Managed to write 7,000 words in the past two days in an attempt to catch up, so I can slow down the pace just a touch on the novel writing. I hope to be at 30k by Wednesday then I won’t be too far behind. It is nice to set goals and reach them, I think that is why I am refusing to give this up this year. I don’t even know if I will ever get around to editing this novel, but it is nice to set out that goal that I will write 50k in a month, and then to achieve it. I know the feeling I had two years ago upon completing the challenge was amazing.

So with that my legs need a workout now that I have sat here planted for the past three hours typing away…

Another painting for the group show I am participating in next month.

I’m procrastinating here on this lazy Saturday morning. I want to write, as I have a word count to hit. Yet I am not feeling all that motivated to write. I feel right now the story I am writing is losing momentum, or maybe I am. I will not bore you today with my thoughts on writing 50k in a month, instead I will open the file and try to up my word count a little, so that I could get just slightly closer to that goal.

Feeling so out of it today, maybe because I slept in until noon. Or the fact that I just ate lunch about a half hour ago. My day is all off today. Now I sit here with a bit of a headache. Normally I wouldn’t post on days like today, but since I am trying to not miss a day of NaBloPoMo, here I am posting about really lame stuff. Nothing to keep you readers interested. You could just bypass this entry today if you like.

I could also complain about my obvious lack of word count, if you check out the little NaNoWriMo widget on my sidebar you will see I am a mere 8K behind where I should be right now. Part of this is the starting over, part of it is lack of motivation, and part is just I get tired of typing sometimes. I am still going to try though, I figured out a new daily word count that will get me to 50k at the end of the month, and if I at least stick to that I should have a pretty good first draft of a novel at the end of the month.

So I am working extra hard on my novel, and managed to get way ahead in word count. Yesterday while I was trying to make some invoices and then cleaning up the desktop I somehow trashed my novel. All 6,000 words gone in one quick click of the mouse. I didn’t notice though until hours later when I was all excited about the plot line and where I was headed with this story. Let’s just say I was devastated to realize that it was all gone, and I would have to start over…from scratch. Already five days in I need to make up 8,500 words in one day to catch up. BAH! Well I am off to take a nap and then try to work on getting some word count going again.

At least some good things happened yesterday to make deleting my novel not seem so bad.

- warm November days
- sitting outside and reading
- keeping up with my daily word count for my novel
- paintings that just sort of come together
- my new charger for my camera
- short lines at the post office
- spending time with my husband
- the changing of seasons

The fun that is NaNoWriMo and NaBloPoMo! I will be attempting both again this year, after last years defeat. I somehow managed to give up on my novel at the end of the first or second week as I got sick, and then I also managed to miss a day of posting over here. So of the last two years of doing this I succeeded one and failed at the other. I guess that means I have a 50/50 chance of getting through them this month. Maybe I will only manage to maintain one, who knows. We will see. Let’s enjoy the trip everyone, I have a novel to begin that I have no idea what it will be about yet. So off I go into a caffiene induced month of chasing some words.
