A shot of Nyquil, and a weeks worth of lack of sleep meant that I fell asleep at 5:30p.m. on December 31st, 2009, and did not wake until 10:30a.m. on January 1st, 2010. One of the first New Years since I was a kid that I didn’t make it to 12:00am. Also one of the first years I have brought in with a horrible cold. With that I came to the conclusion that this year will be a year of rest for me. I will do more to take care of myself, not try to stretch myself to thin, and also take a step back from some lofty goals that I so often make this time of year. Only to be disappointed when I get no closer to achieving them, as they were just to overwhelming to achieve.

I plan on sharing my goals on here this year, I also plan on making them realistic, small steps toward larger goals. I am looking at this year as a clean slate, as a chance to start over in some ways. A chance to reevaluate and change course slightly as the one I was took some unexpected turns that have led me in a whole new direction.

With that, A Happy New Year to you and I hope it will be one filled with the happiness you deserve!

Been really super busy the past few weeks with the new job, and holiday festivities. Will probably only get crazier as the end of the year approaches. I’ll be gone until early next year, may pop in for my yearly letter to myself. Until then though, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, or other holiday that you may celebrate, have a great new year, and I look forward to coming back next year… with some new content, new paintings, and hopefully a more updated blog.

I was looking back through some old posts from last year and realized I just haven’t posted this year as much as I would have liked, I also realized that my art has taken a serious backseat this year. Guess this year I was just listening for some answers. Hoping the new routine will allow more time to focus on both.

It’s that time of year again to stop and take the time to be thankful for all the good things in our lives. I have a ton to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and I just want to thank everyone who stops by this blog, and all the supporters for my art it means a lot to me more than a simple thanks can express. Hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and I will be back next week, hopefully on a more daily basis.

I can’t wait to get me some pumpkin pie!

Hope everyone had a peaceful and cozy Christmas! Happy Boxing day to our neighbors to the north and other places that celebrate that day. I think the U.S. needs to get on that holiday already.

Those are my handmade Christmas cards from this year. They were a ton of fun to make. I still can’t believe Christmas is this week, let alone just two short days away. I am all done with shopping and baking, but still feel all out of whack with the holiday coming. Just feels like it should be another week away or something. I’m hoping to take a few days off this week and just veg out. Really need a day to shut off the phone and computer and just do nothing but watch cheesy tv and eat a bunch of junk food. Will be around here sporadically until the new year.
